Senior Sales Consultant – Horticulture, Soils & Agronomy

We supply a diverse customer base including commercial growers, farmers, landscapers, councils, retailers and home gardeners throughout South Australia.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Sales Consultant to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in agronomy, horticulture, soil management or agriculture who wants to work with quality products, build lasting customer relationships and help drive the future growth of a respected South Australian business.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and providing practical solutions to customers across a range of industries.
This role combines technical knowledge with business development and customer service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, meeting customers and helping them achieve better results.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across horticulture, agriculture, landscaping and retail sectors.
- Provide advice and recommendations on soil health, compost, mulches, growing media and related products.
- Work closely with customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Conduct regular customer visits throughout South Australia.
- Monitor market trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Represent Peats at industry events, field days and trade shows.
- Work collaboratively with production, operations and customer service teams.
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Experience in agronomy, horticulture, agriculture, soil science or a related field.
- Previous sales or business development experience.
- A genuine passion for soil health, plant production and sustainable agriculture.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and commercial awareness.
- knowledge and experience using Office 365 applicationssss including butnot limited to, Outlook, Excel, Forms & Sharepoint
- A current driver’s licence.
- Existing industry contacts within horticulture, viticulture, landscaping or agriculture will be highly regarded.

Peats Soil is looking for experienced, reliable drivers to join our growing transport team.
We currently have two afternoon shift positions available, with one driver based from our Willunga Depot and one based from Lonsdale.
The roles involve local and regional deliveries across South Australia, working with a modern fleet and a supportive transport team.
✅ Must have:
- Current HC or MC Licence
- Minimum 2 years driving experience preferred
- Sound understanding of NHVR fatigue and mass management requirements
- Commitment to safety and professionalism
- Reliable, positive attitude and strong work ethic

Location: Brinkley, SA
Job Type: Casual with view to go Fulltime 38hr plus avaialable
New and moden fleet of front end loaders
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a front end loader to load, transport, and handle soil, mulch, and compost products
- Maintain and inspect equipment for safety and performance
- Assist with general yard duties and product handling
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and company policies
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production targets
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a front end loader is essential
- Valid front end loader operator ticket or relevant qualification
- Strong attention to detail and safety-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Flexibility to work additional hours if required

Granulation Plant Operator – Brinkley Depot
About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Granulation Plant Operator to join our expanding team at Peats Soil. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our granulation plant, producing high-quality soil and organic products used across agriculture and landscaping.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor granulation plant equipment
- Maintain consistent product quality to specification
- Adjust plant settings to optimise output and efficiency
- Conduct routine inspections and basic fault finding
- Load/unload raw materials and finished product
- Complete production and maintenance records
- Follow all safety procedures and site protocols
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks
About You
- Mechanically minded with strong problem-solving skills
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Current High Risk Forklift Licence (essential)
- Front-end loader or mobile plant experience (advantage)
- Willing to work shifts and overtime when required
